Introduction to week 7 and overview:

This week has been a very busy and intense week as it has involved collecting everything together, putting it into a level 3 wireframe and then moving that into muse and actually creating the website which has been very scary but also very rewarding to see all of mine and Kate's hard work put into one place where it is collecting together.

On Monday after university both me and Kate went into the library together to have a little Teen Hotline meeting and plan the week as we knew it would be a big week for our project. we then created the level 3 wireframe, combining my drawings and Kate's layout of the website through the level 2 wireframe she made.

In the Digital Media lesson on Tuesday, I created the website in Muse from our level 3 wireframe and took it home to develop with Kate as she was absent.

Unfortunately this week we haven't been able to film our video for the website but we will get it done next week. Due to not being able to film this week we decided to get a clearer plan on what will be said/used in the video which is helping us out a lot of we want our video to be longer than 30 seconds but not too long as our target audience (kids/teens) have a rather short attention span. Therefore we have agreed to make it roughly 60 seconds long, short but sweet, getting our message through clearly.

Level 3 wireframe

Me and Kate got together to create our level 3 wireframe as we both agreed that from here on out we would both like to be present as much as possible in the development of the project due to it all coming together in one place as before it was all little bits here and there. With our level 3 wireframe I took Kate's level 2 wireframe, opened up a new illustrator document and we both sat down, inserted in our logo, banner and navigation bar design. We both smiled massively as this was 100% what we imagined in our head our website would roughly (basic) look. We changed our background colour to a light sky blue and it was looking even better adding intended colours to our design. We both know the font used for the headline 'Teen Hotline' is not the intended font but we will decide on little tweaks like the font next week once we have the basics for our website created. We put a pink background on the headline as we're playing with using lots of colour but I think Kate is right in saying it the website should have a lot of white on backgrounds as it creates a good contrast to the blue background as well as highlights the other parts on the webpage which will be bright in colour. We did some research into subheadings and a thin banner going above the main bulk of the written work, however, we have since then decided against it as we do not want too much going on each webpage as it may look a bit tacky and that we're just trying to fill space which isn't needed. From here we're both feeling super conifident on creating our website on Muse as we have such a good direction we're going in as well as developments to do when we move everything across to Muse.

Making The Website In Muse:

Unfortunately Kate was unable to make this lesson but that was okay because all I was doing was transferring everything over from Illustrator to Muse and changing it lightly from our development tips/suggestions we both made from our level 3 wireframe.

I honestly had no idea what to do on Muse but thankfully VJ was on hand to help me with everything which I am very thankful, he would teach me how to do something once and then let me action that onto my Muse document. Slowly slowly I moved everything over from Illustrator into Muse and the website was coming together very well. I created everything for our website 'uniform' and basic layout which would appear on every page on the home page and hyperlinked it all to the correct pages on the website. These hyperlinks included the navigation buttons to their intended pages, the logo to the home page and the headline 'TEEN HOTLINE' to the home page. Once I had done that I copied the whole page, pasted it in place on the other 4 pages and named the other 4 pages the intended names for their page. This made my life so much easier as it was practically half the work on the website done as all that needs to be done on the website now is individual content for each page.
